Is the American Dream a reality or a myth?

English III Research Paper
Throughout American history and literature, the concept of the American Dream has played an important role.
You will investigate this concept as it relates to one particular theme, time period, and/or author.

Guiding Questions:

Use the following guiding questions to help you:
1. What exactly is the American Dream?
2. How attainable is the American Dream?
3. What are some obstacles to the American Dream?
4. How can Americans overcome obstacles?
5. Are there circumstances in which obstacles are insurmountable (too difficult to overcome)?
6. How realistic is the American Dream today?

Requirements:

Use at least 5 sources, at least 2 of which must be primary sources. 

Primary Resources: Search the Primary Sources Wiki and This I Believe .

Themes:

Immigration, Racial Discrimination, Families, Education, Sports, Women's Rights, Religion, Home Ownership, etc.

Time Periods:

Any decade of US History (roaring 20s, Civil Rights era, Westward Expansion, etc) (Use Grolier or free history websites below)

American sub-group:

Occupations, Time periods, Race, Ethnicity, Religion, etc.
