Media Topic Information

Learning Objective: Students will provide examples of how media reflects the values, ideas and opinions of a culture, and how it influences culture.

Media Types:

  • Print (books, newspapers, magazines, ads, newsletters, brochures, billboards, posters, and photos)
  • Broadcast (Television & Radio)  & Film (VHS/DVD)
  • Internet (any type of the above media that is found on the web)
    • *Social (user/consumer-generated content using web-technologies like social networks (MySpace), webblogs (Blogger), microblogging (Twitter), social bookmarking (Delicious), wikis (Wikipedia), multimedia-sharing (YouTube, Photobucket)
