Read Across America March 2, 2010
A Day to Remember...After learning about the value of reading to young children from Mrs. Bosler, Mrs. Miller's Child Development classes had the opportunity to walk to Montera Elementary School to read to children in all grades to celebrate Read Across America Day. Thanks to a invitation by Ms. Acosta, Montera's Librarian, students traveled to classrooms in pairs and read Dr. Seuss and other children's books to the children. Check out the photos below.

Read Across America PoemYou're never too old, too wacky, too wild,
To pick up a book and read with a child. You're never too busy, too cool, or too hot, To pick up a book and share what you've got. In schools and communities, Let's gather around, Let's pick up a book, Let's pass it around. There are kids all around you, Kids who will need Someone to hug, Someone to read. Come join us March 2nd Your own special way And make this America's Read to Kids Day. from NEA See also The Reader's Oath by Debra Angstead |
