Create your own Destiny account 05/07/10
Destiny is the online library catalog. Students and staff can set up accounts to search the catalog and enjoy the great features! Not only can you "judge books by their covers" but you can also suggest books to students, review books, see the most popular books are in the past 30 days, and more!

Donors Choose is a nonprofit organization that connects public school teachers with people who want to support classroom learning. Submit project requests for the specific materials your students need to learn and if funded, the materials will be sent to you. Very organized and easy to use. Many MHS teachers have already used this site with success, you can too!
Google Alerts 11/6/09
Sign up to get email notifications any time a topic you designate shows up in Google search results. This is a great way to stay current with a research project or current event/news story.

Want your kids to research a topic on their own but don't have time to teach them how to evaluate websites to find the best ones? You can create your own custom search engine with Google so kids will always get results from quality websites you've selected. You can do it on your own and provide the students a link to it or contact the TL who can post the search engine on the library website.
